My Snapshot Bingo card was a bit all over the place but I managed to fill in one line of it and post the photos. That means I can have a new card before the round's over, although I may not get far with it.
feng_shui_house: there are coots in one of the pictures :)
Photo One: Pine shelterbelt
Prompt: Hallway
Notes: The hallway in my house is narrow and boring, so here's a metaphorical hallway: the space between two rows of pine trees which are providing shelter and stabilising the bank of a creek on some farmland.
Photo Two: Waterbirds
Prompt: Bird
Notes: A sleek, shiny mallard drake at the side of a lake. Also in the picture: white-faced coots! The duck is very handsome but I think coots are neat. They have flanges on their feet instead of webbing.
Photo Three: Valve cover
Prompt: V
Notes: An iron valve cover in a city footpath. Until I started taking pictures of valve covers I never knew there was more than one type, and there are differences in how they wear with time, different surfaces they're set into, sometimes painted markings crossing them - it could be fun to do a series of pictures.
Photo Four: Salad wrap
Prompt: Plate
Notes: I had a nice lunch. I spread vegemite on my wrap before piling up the salad. There's rocket from my garden, tomato, olives, yellow pepper and fried onion... mmmmm.
Photo Five: White butterfly on red clover
Prompt: Afternoon (Free space)
Notes: I had my camera out to take photos of fruit on my trees this afternoon, and a white butterfly landed right next to me.

And the green and white - this butterfly is a pest here but how beautiful it is in your picture!!!

Date: 2013-04-10 08:45 pm (UTC)The butterfly is a pest here too, but I've been too busy to grow any cabbages so it's not a pest in my garden, nothing there for it to eat! I'd like to get pictures of more interesting butterflies, but even this one looks more beautiful when you really look at it close up.
