Livejournal staff inform users that they just don't care about the users.

I used to feel that having control of two in-before-advertising basic LJ accounts was a desirable asset, since the time they stopped allowing creation of a no-ads non-paid account. (If I'd ever bought a month's paid account it would have been changed to a "Plus" account on expiry rather than reverting to a basic account.) I use adblock, but it's the principle of the thing. Now I'm planning to do one more DW import and then maybe delete the spare journal and delete all posts in the main one -- locking isn't good enough with the way LJ is run -- and I'll be LJ-side only for the people who haven't moved yet.

Anyone who wants a Dreamwidth account, you don't need an invite code currently!

The biggest thing I'll miss is little_details... factfinding isn't nearly as busy.

*sigh* Well, if LiveJournal continues down its current path, I predict that traffic at factfinding will pick up before too long.

I have the same thing going with my original, used-for-RL-only LJ account. I will probably leave it there, because the few people who check it are not-at-all journal-savvy and it would be nearly impossible to get them to move.

My fannish accounts, on the other hand? I'm making serious steps in evaluating what I'd lose by closing them down.

Ugh not again :/ If only more of my friends were at Dreamwidth! Plus there are some communities I would really miss. I'll keep my toes dipped in both pools for now hehe :)

Yeah, sucks doesn't it, like this horrible comment page which must be designed to drive us away for the crime of not being Russian. I'll comment over there exclusively for your posts from now on. The more people who go there, the better it will be.
