Warning to all two of the non-Naartists reading here -- August is National Art Making Month and I'll be posting pictures a bit. Feel free to join in with us at
naarmamo, you don't have to be left out!
On Day 1, which was my birthday, I did a lot of semi-arty stuff such as working on plot outline and characters for a short film my siblings and I plan to make, doing some work on costume design, and testing out the camera's filming capabilities using the new tripod I got as a present. None of that made a finished piece of art to upload, so I drew a quick dinosaur before bed as well to make sure my first day really counted.
Today, Day 2, I dragged my art supplies crate out of the spare bedroom and put it right by my desk, where it will live all month for easy access, and in it I found paintbrushes and I did actual PAINTING.
My main aim with this was to find out if the lightweight card I bought would stand up to moisture, such as paint and glue; I'm hoping it'll work well for collages as well as painting. It's buckled up only slightly.
Oh, I love NaArMaMo... so many inspiring and amazing artworks posted already! So far I've managed to look at and comment on every single one -- and at this early stage I haven't started repeating myself too badly. There are only so many different ways I can express admiration, but no matter how repetitive my comments are I mean it every time.
