Already there on the walnut shells! (Here's a pile more of them on my desk, I should tidy up after my snack and chuck them out the window.) I think horse poo would be more useful to my garden than cat poo but last time I went to see horses I was sharing a car with people with sensitive noses who wouldn't let me get any.
My main gardening problem is removing enough grass to give new plants enough space to get established. Once they're in and big enough to compete, they absolutely thrive on the neglect method; the danger time is while they sit inside wrapped in newspaper waiting for me to get around to bunging them in.
