I have Sunrise apples and they're very nice. Don't like Pacific Rose as much, they tend to be too big and coarse and lack flavour, as well as having unattractive brown parts around the seeds. Granny Smiths are not my favourites but I find they do stay edible out of season.

There are no new season apples in the supermarket, I looked and all their apples were USA imported. Urgh...
